Unless you live under a rock, if you're at all interested in HK entertainment, then you probably came across this scandal already. At first, when I first read about it, I thought the photos would be most likely doctored, but curiosity got the best of me, and I googled Edison and Gillian's name. The pictures aren't as "nasty" as I thought they would be, but most of the photos do look real, especially the ones with Gillian and Edison. However, the girls look younger in those pics so it probably happened years past.
I was actually quite surprised the most with Gillian being involved because I buy her "good girl" image that EEG put out. For gosh sakes, they don't even let her kiss her male costars onscreen. I certainly don't expect her to be a virgin or anything like that, but I sure didn't expect her to have sex pictures though. Second surprise was Cecilia since I always thought she loved Nicholas Tse, so it was surprising to learn that she might have had some history with Edison, who is Nic's friend.
If these pics are indeed real, I don't think these artistes are wrong, I think they are just stupid for taking these kinds of pictures especially if they are already in the entertainment biz or thinking of joining the entertainment biz when they took the pics. And it's even more stupid for their personal future when it comes to marriage and having children. Actually, the idea of being with Edison, is kind of questionable really.
I find it interesting how the HK police are searching for the culprit who put these pictures up. Isn't the search in itself indicating indirectly that the pictures are real and stolen from Edison's property? I also find it interesting that these stars haven't come out and say something official about these pictures. Whether it be true or not, I think they should come out and face the light.

The latest update is Edison's video message. Here is a link on Youtube: Edison talks about Sex Scandal, in which I found the link from Asianfanatics. I think this video message is too late, and really doesn't help the situation. A better effect would probably be to hold a press conference earlier and then deny or accept the pictures as being real. At least, he would be doing it in person and doesn't seem like such a coward. Why does he keep on saying "strange"? I think that's quite a unique word to use for this situation, I think more appropriate words would be "unexpected", "outrageous", and "surprising". I wonder when this scandal is ever going to fade away. It's kind of sad this is happening so close to Chinese New Year's too. Even though only a few stars/idols are involved in this scandal, I think it would have some effects on other artistes, fans, and the mood for the Chinese New Year, since this scandal would probably be fresh on people's minds. Or perhaps maybe it may be a good thing, maybe Chinese New Years might take the focus away from this scandal.
On a side note, ever since this post has been posted, there has been over 100 hits to this blog in like a day, (this blog usually get like what, 10 hits a day at the most). So you can imagine how many people are visiting other online sites, all curious about this scandal.

So unfortunately for the idols involved, the scandal is still making headlines with the release of more sex photos that appears to be continuation of the ones previously uploaded and first exposed the scandal. From More Edison Pictures Released, that there was also a rumor going on that a supposed uploader name Kira said:

For me, if the message did come from the real uploader, I think the message seems to convey that this might be one of Edison's friend turned nemesis who is probably living somewhere in Canada or US. However, what is really at the back of my mind ever since this scandal came out is what Athlon (the webmaster and leader of AF) posted: "I'm afraid some girls won't be able to take it and there will be some suicide news...." This scandal is huge gossip and a hot discussion topic for Asian entertainment fans, so it is a huge impact to the girls involved. With rumors that Gillian haven't left her residence for 240 hours and Bobo rumored to cancel her upcoming wedding (news from AF here: Gillian Chung Has Her Misfortune Turned Into Blessing - Bobo Chan rumoured to have her wedding cancelled), everyday I am afraid that I would see this type of headline due to this scandal, especially when none of the girls seems to be able to face the media/people. I really hope these girls would be able to get through this, and that the uploader really stops doing this. He or she has made their point that this scandal is real, but if they go too far, there might be horrible consequences.

Actually, the police are involved in the case, because the spread of pornographic material is illegal in Hong Kong, and not because it's stolen property. Which is why, the police sent out a warning that whoever upload or download the images can be arrested.
But anyway, yes, I was really surprised over the alleged involvement of Gillian. Like you, I bought into the image, but actually I still kind of believe it. Call me naive or something, but I don't believe Gillian would do something so stupid (taking the pics), because she is pretty huge. Though it actually would be nice to hear her say anything. Plus, in one of the pics, gillian's head is just weirdly staright. But now 4arrests makes it sound more fishy to me, like why are so many ppl involved in the source...?
But LOL, love your point that anyone who chooses to date Edison probably has impaired judgement. He really is a jerk.
Eh forget my earlier comment bout the pics, that little hope I had is dashed with Edison's "apology." With his personality, if they were fake he would have shouted and screamed obscenities. But he is still a coward, he doesn't look at all repentent in the video and it took him too long to answer.
It is still ironic that he's telling ppl not to keep the pics when he did..
Yes, it does seem similar to Beyond Our Ken, but I would dare say, this made way more impact, and it was more revealing whether it be real or not.
I didn’t know that it was illegal to spread pornographic images before, but I did read a news article probably from AF, saying it was ok to share the pictures personally with others, but it is illegal to post them online like on a website. Though I don’t know whether it was meant for HK only or also outside of HK.
IF the pictures are real, Gillian was probably too young and too caught up in the moment to think about the consequences. He probably promised to delete them afterwards, but didn’t after all. But really, I think the series of pictures of them is too convincing. I see that the world is full of perverts, but to photoshopped a series of pictures and taking the time to make it look real? That's a little too much.
What do you think Gillian should do? I think if it was real, I think the best thing to do is to come out and tell the truth. I think she could get some sympathy points if she says she was young at the time, and tell it like either she didn’t know she was filmed/taken pics of or she got manipulated by the guy. If it was fake, the very first day, she should’ve come out and say it is fake along with the lines of “I despise this guy, why would I want to have sexual relationships with him.”
I agree with you about the video, if it was fake, he would’ve said something along the lines of “this shiet is fake, dumb losers be making this crap up and messing with my rep yall, as for all yall nosy people who be judging and looking at these dumb pics, get a life and stop being damn nosy.” So basically his personality in the past and even at present betrayed his intentions to try to make better of this situation.

LOL, your edison impression is spot on. As for Gillian, I don't think she will admit to it directly (because I think EEG would tell her not to do that). But she will respond indirectly, I believe something along the lines.."I made a wrong decision in the past..but the past is in the past" (that's my prediction).
But definately agree with what you and Athlon said. This uploader may be issuing an ultimatium to the HK police, but he doesn't realize the damage he's causing. What happens if the girls can't handle it, because it is traumatizing, and do something to hurt themselves? can this person live with that? there really is no point in releasing more photos, we know they are real..it only hurts the girls more.
I know you are a Twins fan, does this incident changed your like for Gillian? I still support her but I'm a bit disappointed in her judgement.
But wow, Edison is a dead man. The new photos contain his current gf(if it's still on) Vincy Yeung, the niece of Albert Yeung. And of course the Yeungs have mob connections..
Edison makes a mistake. But not him fault. People don’t know what respect people privacy. We or any of us can take photo at anything. This is our right. But people that steal the picture and publish to internet. The people call theft. Politic or celebrities is same. There are human like us.We also may became victim also.
themissingpiece, I would have to say yes because whenever I see Gillian, I am reminded about the sex scandal pics with Edison. I don't think I'll ever forget about this scandal when I look at Gillian and Edison again. Listening to just her singing is no problem though.
joininternet, you are right. It is thief, but for Edison and all the other stars, they are idols to many people and to some extent, they also represent Hk and Chinese people. To have these pictures out in the open public is not only scandalous for their images, but a problem for young people to look upon on, and most probably also a disgrace and disappointment to many Chinese/HK people. So in that way, Edison and the starlets and these pictures have done something wrong, at least in the eyes of the public and Chinese/HK people.

joininternet, I do agree with you that stealing the pictures are illegal, and those people who stole should be put in jail. However, I can see why it is hard to not blame Edison or forgive him for what has happened.
There seems to be means to prevent this scandal from being exposed. For one, if Edison had been more careful about where to leave his computer for repairs or take extra precautions to keep his pictures private, then his private life may not be revealed. For two, why has he kept all these intimate pictures? He can not delete them? Ok, if one can never delete something forever in a computer, then why not destroy the hardware? After all, supposely he is in love with his girlfriend. He has no need to keep those pictures. But to keep these pictures, it seems like he was showing off these pictures. For three, why take these pictures anyway when he and these other girls are idols, and if these pics are leaked, then their image will be in trouble as well as facing huge public disgrace.
I do sympathize with Edison a little especially since he does seem like he love his current girlfriend a lot, but the damage he caused to the other female stars is really hard to forget since it seems like he hurt them directly (through emotional cheating and all those girls he was involved with) and indirectly (ruining their image, family lives, relationships, etc). In that way, I can understand the girls being victims since the pics didn't come out from their side, but I can't really see Edison as a victim.
Whatever it is, I think the scandal is dying down, which is a good thing for everyone.
